Bridging Research, Practice, and Training

We research, practice, and teach to improve community health. Our expertise is in the practice of evidence-based STD/HIV prevention including the use of evidence-based behavioral interventions and public health strategies for community-based providers and public health providers. Our expertise is also in the prevention and clinical management of STD/HIV, Hepatitis (Hep), and Tuberculosis (TB).

We offer classroom, on-line training and technical assistance to community-based organizations, clinics, and local, state, and jurisdiction public health agencies.

CHBT is

designated as a Regional Training Center for the New York State Department of Health, AIDS Institute; a Behavioral Intervention STD/HIV Prevention Training Center and a Public Health Capacity Building Assistance Center for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC).
